National Tuberculosis Elimination Programme (NTEP)

Tuberculosis (TB) continues to be a major global public health challenge, with India contributing nearly 26% of the global TB burden. The National Tuberculosis Elimination Programme (NTEP) is a flagship initiative of the Government of India aimed at eliminating TB through early detection, effective treatment and comprehensive patient support systems.

Tamil Nadu has strengthened the TB elimination program through strong surveillance systems, diagnostic infrastructure and integrated healthcare services that enable early TB detection and treatment for both drug-sensitive and drug-resistant TB.
