The programme ensures universal coverage irrespective of gender, educational status, or location and focuses on six priority areas including nutrition, reproductive health, mental health, injuries and violence, substance misuse, and non-communicable diseases.\n\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"nhm-hero-image\" style=\"display: flex; justify-content: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"width: 350px;\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/IMG_20260721_120628.jpg-scaled.jpeg\" alt=\"Anemia Mukt Bharat\" \/><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<h3>Phased Implementation in Tamil Nadu<\/h3>\n<div class=\"unit-grid\">\n<div class=\"unit-card\"><strong>Phase I (2014\u201315)<\/strong>\nImplemented in 9 priority districts including Ariyalur, Krishnagiri, Madurai, Perambalur, Tiruchirappalli, Tirunelveli, Tiruvannamalai, Vellore and Virudhunagar.<\/div>\n<div class=\"unit-card\"><strong>Phase II (2017\u201318)<\/strong>\nExpanded to 15 additional districts across Tamil Nadu.<\/div>\n<div class=\"unit-card\"><strong>Phase III (2024\u201325)<\/strong>\nExtended to the remaining 14 districts, ensuring statewide coverage.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<h3>Facility-Based Interventions<\/h3>\n<div class=\"program-block\">\n\n<strong>Adolescent Friendly Health Centres (AFHCs)<\/strong>\n\nAFHCs provide medical consultation, counselling and referral services for adolescents. These centres function at Block Primary Health Centres, District Headquarters Hospitals, Sub-District Government Hospitals and District Early Intervention Centres in Medical College Hospitals.\n\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"stat-grid\">\n<div class=\"stat-card\"><strong>758<\/strong>\nFunctional AFHCs<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<h3>School-Based Interventions<\/h3>\n<h4>Peer Educator Programme<\/h4>\n<div class=\"info-box\">Peer Educators serve as a bridge between adolescents and health services. Two peer educators are selected from each school to promote adolescent health awareness and healthy practices.<\/div>\n<div class=\"stat-grid\">\n<div Days are conducted once every three months.<\/li>\n \t<li>Parents, teachers, Village Health Nurses, RBSK Medical Officers, Panchayat representatives and community stakeholders participate.<\/li>\n \t<li>Monthly Adolescent Health Club Meetings include health education sessions, quizzes and awareness activities.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<h4>Weekly Iron and Folic Acid Supplementation (WIFS)<\/h4>\n<div class=\"info-box\">Under Anaemia Mukt Bharat, Iron and Folic Acid tablets are provided to school-going and out-of-school adolescents through schools and Anganwadi
